March Writing Journey Wrap-up

At the beginning of the year, I set some monthly goals for myself. To document my journey and hold myself accountable, I’ll share how I spent my time with you. My March wrap-up:

✔ Edit my Reader Magnet

I wrote a Reader Magnet for my YA fantasy novel Sunstruck in February. In March, I self-edited those extra chapters. In April, I will send them to my editor.

✔ Hire a cover designer

I hired a cover designer! I’m so excited to see the result in a couple of weeks. Follow me on Instagram or via my newsletter for a cover reveal.

✔ Plot book 2

I continued plotting book 2 (currently unnamed) in March. I might still continue with that for a couple of days, but my fingers are itching to start the writing phase.

✔ Edit book 1 and find a copy editor

I finished my developmental edits in March. What a nice experience to work with a professional editor and see my story improve with the comments! After finishing, I found a copy editor on Reedsy and that’s where my story is at the moment.

✔ Created a Facebook account

I created a Facebook account, but there’s no content on it yet. Stay tuned for more.

Still on my to do list and moved to April or later:

  • Get my website ready for my book launch
  • Decide on a formatting tool
  • Find a proofreader

My major April goal is writing book 2 and editing book 1 (when I get my copy edits back). Later this month, I hope to share my cover reveal for Sunstruck. Don’t want to miss it? Subscribe to my Newsletter by clicking the button below!
